Suggestion: Hello, I think that the picture on the right side of the website shall be either taken down or removed since I have seemed to notice it has a symbol representing Nazi'z which is called an Iron Cross on the neck, and a few people may find this symbol offensive. I would kindly request that this could be changed or removed as I feel that people of color would find this offensive.

Topic: Riot of May 11-12, 1970 (Augusta)
Description: On May 11, 1970, Augusta became the scene of Georgiaâs largest uprising of the Civil Rights/Black Power era. Over 700 black citizens gathered at the Municipal Building to demand an investigation into the beating death of 16 year-old Charles Oatman in the county jail. When white officials stonewalled, long-simmering grievances about racial injustice boiled over. Some in the group began targeting white properties for destruction, and the protest quickly spread in scope and numbers. With shoot-to-kill orders that night, police fired shotguns, wounding dozens and killing six. In local trials over 100 African Americans were convicted, but despite an FBI investigation and two federal trials, no white person was held accountable. âKent-Augusta-Jackson-Vietnamâ became a national rallying cry, and the protests accelerated activism in Augusta.
