Identifying Subscription Type for Allocations

08/10/22 Add subscription_type to allocations with values:

  • core
  • community
  • costshare
  • public

The field would only pertain to non-glri records. Default to blank

Old request: Would like to have a way to identify cost-share resources. Currently, we have institutions that get resources through GALILEO cost-share, but there is no way to identify these resources other than to reference the cost-share spreadsheet that Ken creates or read the resource notes. For example, Britannica School, K-12 and Private K-12 get through through the K12 subscription with GALILEO, but we have some other institutions that get Britannica School through GALILEO cost-share. In the Britannica School resource record in the list of institutions that get Britannica School, there is no indicator which institutions get it through cost-share. They are all just listed together.

I spoke with Ken and Russell and they agreed that being able to identify to flag the type of subscription for a given allocation would be fantastic. The idea has been expanded to go beyond just cost-share. We want to be able to flag an allocation as one of the following:

  • GALILEO Core Resources
  • Group Resources
  • Cost-Share Resources
  • Public

Ken also has a spreadsheet where he maintains this information that we can load to set this up.
