Remove user view "subjects" and add user view fields to resources
Issue
Currently, we use these subject categories to denote which resources will appear in each user view:
- Elementary School
- Middle School
- High School
I think this is an improper use of subject categories. A resource that is marked "High School" is not ABOUT high schools.
I propose adding a field to resources/allocations: User View
with these values:
- Elementary School
- Middle School
- High School
You should be able to select 0, 1, 2, or all of these.
Regardless of these selections, the resource would always appear in the "default" view (non-publiclibs, non-k12), in the "full" view (publiclibs), and in the "educator" view (k12).
Like subject categories currently, when a central resource is marked for one or more user views, an institution can elect to add that resource to an additional user view.
Question: Should an institution be able to elect that a central resource NOT appear in an otherwise centrally selected user view?
Note: Do we also want to remove the subject category: "For Kids"? Currently it plays ZERO role in what displays in the Elementary School user view.
