recommendation: Decorative images are generally used for layout and spacing and not to provide information. People who can't see these images don't care about them and find it fatiguing and annoying when they have to listen to their screen reader repeatedly announce them. Refer to these W3C Technique articles for more information about alternative text for decorative images, "Technique H67: Using null alt text and no title attribute on img elements for images that assistive technology should ignore": https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG22/Techniques/html/H67 and "Technique C9:Using CSS to include decorative images": https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG22/Techniques/css/C9 In this instance the images could be considered decorative or informative depending on the intent of the author. If the intent it to help someone distinguish between available items that a similar then some effort should be made to provide text alternatives for the images. This could be through alt attributes on the images or by providing more detail about the items in the available text. Recommend either implementing these images through CSS or including null alt attributes for them if the intent is decorative or providing some text alternative for the images if the intent is informative.
